rubber ducks
haven't blogged in a while now.
my desk is cluttered with notes, stationary, tys and a weathered, dog-earedcopy of "great expectations" sitting surrendipitiously on such pile.
(how fitting)
nothing much to talk about in 'cept i've been buried under these notes these day preparing for my midyrs.
i could have sworn i saw a 'roach crawl out of some pile.
but then it would be a bigger ball of fun to have sworn that i saw a puddy cat.
all this mugging. EH it's a herculean task just trying to cramp 4 subjects in 2 weeks. (considering acs idol was the whole of the first week and that MY MIDYRS ARE HELD THE LAST WEEK OF THE HOLIDAYS)
like jasbear told me few weeks back: "wad the rubber duckie is wrong with your sch"...
yea! we need more rubber ducks in the w/cs.
a man needs his rubber ducks.
oh well. back to Mug Pile no. 7.
anyway, after incessant badgering, i finally got one of my Big Band Magics's sound bites from christian!!
Features yours truly on the altosax and yivette atienza on vocals.

foxx and charles
finally got to watch my "Ray" dvd.
watched it with shermaine; she was so unnerved during the intimidate scenes, she stuffed her mouth with dorritos everytime ray charles scored.
and bloody hell, he scored like the brazilians.
anyway,
love love love ray charles & the movie.
hayl and i were discussing how jean's eyeliner stayed during the scene where she comes out of the water. After a while, i tot i came up with the perfect pseudo-answer.
"Don't question the birdwoman's power."
BUT hayl, being the ultimate conversationalist, then went on to suggest that birdwoman was using chanel.
to which i replied: "hmm... profiting from excess sailva (bird's nest)"
lol. wad.an.evening.

P/S i shamelessly accept any dorritos endorsements, if anyone relevent's reading this.

okayy.
this is gonna be a "for the record" entry.

yesterday:
sent the horn for servicing somewhere ard the tanglin hill area (jerry's house).
it's has been long due for maintanence.
went for rj's band concert to support dominic and samuel.
never put 4 guy together when choosing a gift.
it was by god's grace we din get kicked out of cold storage. heh.
this morning:
jerry, the friendly neighbourhood saxophone technician sent me, well... a very informative update on the repair status, which went like this:
"Mr Lester (lol) max pad replace: 4 pcs; round out neck @ tenon body side unbend low C trigger spatulae. At a glance these are imperative. Upon disasembly other unknown may reveal. Now to source for pads!"
yup. almost mistook the sms as one from my neighbourhood frankenstein technician.
yes, the cape-wearing geriatic that lives across me.
hope my horn's gonna sing better than ever after this.
which reminds of a lester moment a few yrs back during my sec sch days when i first got my black-colour coated saxophone and i loved it to the extent that i purported it as my "girlfriend", albeit in jocular fashion-
One of my mates had comment sagaciously at first glance, of my other half and I: "Lester, i had almost known, among us, that you would be the first to get a black girlfriend".
sheesh. wadeva that meant.
oh yea, jerry's like the friendliest guy ever eh.
almost as friendly as my neighbourhood dentist.
which also reminds me, that my next appt's comin up.
hmm... shall i go christmas again??

x-men (warning: potential spoiler)
hey i could have sworn this joke was funny when i heard it.
It must have been when i was in a joke-susceptible mood when i heard it i tell u,
for i am so the master of smooth delivery and seemless finish.
Q:"so, why is the last xmen movie called x-men 3?"
A: well, apparently, 3 men were "axed" in the the movie.
... here comes the part where the star-trek-convention people go whining about how prof x didn't die and jean's mostly likely not a man, and well, cyclops too. joke-spoilers.
caught xmen 3 with pal derek today. yup they struggled a lil.
goosh, make no mistake about it: i was flabbergasted when there was this "battle" going on with jean (bird-woman) and xavier, and magneto was helpless, stuck to the to the ground, all choked up.
the weiqiang (jolly classmate) in me came out.
"by god, magneto's a useless cock."
i will never look at old men wearing capes the same ever again.
especially the one that lives across me.

i am always a lil apprehensive when i come always blogs that say "lester is cooler now" or "lester is friendlier now" or something to that effect. I mean not that i always come across such stuff; it's just that i've blazed behind and wadever person i was(or am). And to suggest something like that would be debasing that legacy (for lack of a better word), or to suggest there was something wrong with it. i don't know, just doesn't feel right. i like the trail i leave behind.

omg i saw a gal from the college wearing shoes with the batman insignia.
wad a joker
sometimes i really feel the odds are stacked against me.
and i really have to fight to fulfill great expectations,
even against tall tides, at rough seas.
a levels are coming real soon.
cant afford to lose this one.
anyhow, will leave u a quote from Great expectations:

acs idol was a rousing success on friday :)
results were surprising, to say the least.
like joshua said, plenty of deja vu moments; but wad the heck, it was nice to relive those memories. As usual, it was very well planned and pretty much everythin ran like clockwork. gotta hand it to thng, he's a pretty meticulous, even with minute details.
really enjoyed myself :)
he even had the contestants tailed ard by his minions so they dun miss their cues to get on stage. lol.
this is pretty much a "on the record" entry.

Addendum to the last post: apparently joshua lee has found this place.

will be in the "idol band" for ACS Idol. It's the final round of the talent time competition held jointly by acs int, acs barker and of course acjc. Gonna go back to my roots with the same guys i played with for acsi idol back in '04. will be held at on the 2nd of june at acjc, 7.
will blog bout the rehearsals, the band, the competition, and of course, gripes about the contestants (in pure jest of course) in due time.
well, "due time" would have to be after the event. even though it would be seemingly innocuous to go on a diatribe about how clandestine the boisterous tendecies of so-and-so (joshua lee) are and how so-and-so (nicholas seow)'s "okay" sounds like he's getting his nipples pinched,
blood splatter will not look good on my blazer.
of course i'm just kidding.
we can be soo wacky sometimes.
nick's just a ball of fun
and joshua's like a lost long brother that every1 loves.
hehe
